Your Back to School Essentials
You may think this every year, but can you believe it’s already time to shop for school supplies?! Depending on how the last year has been for you, you may be ready tomorrow to send your children off on the school bus. Not hearing “I’m bored” 24/7 certainly has a nice ring to it. Whether this is the first year of school for your child, or the tenth, your priority is making sure they are ready for success with all the Back to School essentials. We take back to school seriously at the credit union, both in preparation and offering resources to help bridge the gap, such as offering a Back to School loan. Before we jump into any extras, Back to School essentials start off with that notorious school supplies list you receive from your child’s school. While there are a few companies that can do the shopping for you, such as Edukit, if you’re looking how to make your dollar stretch further, shopping in person is the way to go. Or consider free grocery pick-up. Wal-Mart usually always wins at having the lowest prices for school supplies, while Target typically has good deals as well. Just a Little Lagniappe
Of course we remember how imperative it was to show up to school with the latest and greatest in school supplies. The thrill definitely hasn’t died down,and there are still some interesting items out there to get your kid all the bragging rights. You can’t beat $20 for wireless earbuds, especially if you don’t want to break the bank for your pre-teen. This will be sure to make all their school bus trips a little more enjoyable.

Participate with United Way’s Stuff the Bus
If you find yourself with one too many items of supplies, please consider donating in our Stuff the Bus boxes at our branch. Stuff the Bus is a United Way initiative to help participating school districts stock up on essential school supplies. In the event that there is not enough school supplies for a school, school administrators can dip in this stock to make sure each student and teacher has everything they need for a successful school year. Just visit one of our branches in Lafayette, Carencro, Crowley or New Iberia, and donate your items in our Stuff the Bus box. Thanks so much for helping us support our school communities!
